In an announcement published on October 21, 2025, Siwoo Law Firm welcomed Chang-Joon Jo to its tax advisory team. His work brings together experience in Korean tax administration, tax appeals and academic research.

Experience across tax administration and research

His public-service career included work at Bucheon City, the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs, the Tax Tribunal, and the Supreme Court’s Tax Research Office. After leaving public service, he worked as a senior advisor at Yoon & Yang LLC. He has also taught taxation at Kangnam University and Kyonggi University.

He holds a law degree from Kyonggi University, a master’s degree in taxation from Sungkyunkwan University’s Graduate School of Business, and a doctorate in taxation from Kangnam University.

Supporting international clients with Korean tax matters

For businesses and investors dealing with Korean national and local taxes, his background adds a tax-administration perspective to the firm’s advisory work.
